Audience Feedback on Pitch

On this page you can see the feedback we have gotten on out pitch which we had made for our short film. We will be using the data which we have gathered from this questionnaire to better out short film and to make it more appealing to our target audience. In addition this information allows us to narrow down on the ideas which we were originally going to chose from when making the inital plans for the short film.

To gather valiable information about my target audience I created a pitch in which we spoke about what we are planning on doing for the short film. In addition we also spoke about what techniques we were planning on using in the short film. Also, we had created an interaction with the audience and left them with a chose of a couple different ideas for what story they would like to see, however we did not give them specific options as we are planning to modify them so that our final product isn't too prodictable.

Furthermore, to gather more feedback from the audience as there wasn't enough time to ask and answer all the questions we created questionnaires to give out to the audience which can be found at the bottom of the page. These questions help us decide what we want to do for our short film but also gives us a brief idea of some of the choices we have made or wanted to make which the audience did not like and condone of.

In addition, we have taken and written down any other questions which we didn't have time to answer form the audience. Using this type of data gathered directly from the audience is the best option as we can directly address any issues or dislikes of the audience and have them changed throughout the creation of the short film, rather than finding out about any of the issues only after the short film was created and when nothing could be done about the issues.

Pitch

Question 1: How will you show the build up to the character turning unstable?

We are going to show the character getting bullied at school which causes him to release his anger and frustration on Call of Duty which then takes over his life and everything that he does. He then continues to get bullied and chorographs a revenge tactic on he fellow student who bullied him throughout his school life. He choriographs this attack through playing the video game Call of Duty.

Question 2:  How will you show that break between reality and virtual reality using technical softwares?

To show the break between reality and virtually I will be using Sony Vegas Pro, Adobe After effects and Photoshop. These shoftwares are best to do this as you can create presets on Photoshop which would could overlay the image and should add the virual reality look to the real image this would be the best technique as it would allow the audience to see the world if the same way as the character would.

Question 3: Will we be showing him trying to snap out of the virtual reality which he was seeing.

We will not be showing him trying to snap out of the virtual reality we are trying to show what would be going through the mind of a mass killer which didn't now how to handle hiss issues and who's mind was influences and manipulated through bullying and through playing video games.

Question 4: Is this a serious movie or a dark comedy?

We are uncertain whether we want to try make it a dark comedy or whether we would like to make it a serious matter to about the effect which bullying and excessive use of video games could do to a young troubled mind.

Question 5: Will we be using the sound from the video game as an aspect of the reality of the main character?

Yes we are planning to use Sound effect from the video game to enhance the feeling that the what he is going through in his daily life is a aspect of his mind believing that he is in the realm of a video game caused by bullying.

Question 6: How will we imply violence instead of showing it?

We will be showing aspect of violence in the video game however we will be we will be using shadowing to imply the fact that the violence is happening however we will not be showing what the actual cause was but what what the character actually did in reality.

Question 7: Will there be a 1st person view in any real life situation?

We are planning to have 1st person views incorporated in the short film to show what the character is seeing. We would also like to use this in order to show the what is happening and what is causing him to do this through the eyes of the actually person/ character. We believe that this would be the best way to show what could have made the person commit the crimes that he did or of what made him not commit the crimes.
